A compact, bushy plant with self-branching habit with stiff stems.
The plant is almost covered by the large fragrant open flowers with fringed and round edges in striking combinations of crimson, rose, white, salmon, pink with intricate dapples and blotches in the centre.
Best grown in sunny or light position that drains well.
Suitable for use as beddings, rock gardens, edging and containers.
Cut back dead flowers to encourage continuous blooming.
Dianthus flowers are edible; the petals are sometimes candied and used as edible decoration.
It has been used to treat fever, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, constipation and dysmenorrhea among other ailments
